I am Chanda Dobriyal an Indian Watercolor Artist from port town of Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Kakinada now a smart city is globally known for its sweet called kaaja. It is famous for its scenic beaches alongside Visakhapatnam, hence excellent composition for me to paint.

Born in quite town of Khambhat in Gujarat though the roots hail from the mighty Himalayas in Garhwal hills, completed my education in Baroda. I have traveled to almost every nook and corner of India from west to the beautiful seven sister states of east, north to the culture rich traditional southern states.

I started my passion for learning painting in 2006 and have privilege to learn with few renowned artists like A.V Ilango (Art Space), Manohar Raja (Water Colour), Jai Prakash (Tapasiya School of Arts), R. Rajendran (Dessin School of Arts) and M. Ramasuresh (Art Expressions) in Chennai. Dhruba Mazumdar (Water Colour), Nirupam Konwar from Bangalore, Abbey Joshep from Kerala, Bijay Biswal and Amit Kapoor during workshop with them in Pune.

During the journey of painting with various mediums like Acrylics, Oil, Poster Colors, watercolor has blown me away. Now I paint mostly with watercolor in my studio as well as plein air. The fluidity of watercolor on handmade paper takes me to another level of spirituality and sometime in time machine.

I was active member of Chennai Weekend Artist, a group of hobbyist and professional artists meeting every weekend for live sketching and painting in and around Chennai during my stay in Chennai. My friends at CWA have taught and transformed me to a true sense plein air artist.
